PROJECT DESCRIPTION
ADCO were contracted to construct a new car park and connect it to the existing car park.
Works included the following; stripping of topsoil, installation of drainage including gullies and manholes, electrical and communication ducts, kerbs, concrete footpaths, tarmac and line marking, grading embankments and landscaping, re-instating permanent fencing and timber fencing including crash barriers around the perimeter of the site.
Total area approx. 5,000sq/m
Challenges Faced
- Silt fence had to be erected at bottom of embankment to stop debris and dust entering pond.
- Working with live environment
- Daily environmental air-borne dust test carried out for duration of the project.
Innovations
- Installation of retaining wall using a Bayfield block system built with no mortar or concrete, the unique dry build locking system allows fast track construction
Successes
- Project was completed with no reportable accidents on time and within budget
- The ADCO team worked closely with PM group and the client to ensure the project objectives were achieved.
